What is holding business growth back

GRI examines demand, trust, the business model, cash flow, operations, the team and the founder’s role. Start with the intended outcome, collect evidence, choose one constraint and plan how to test it. This guide does not assign scores or predict guaranteed growth.

GOAL

Find evidence of growth constraints and choose a manageable first step.

VALUABLE FINAL DELIVERABLE

An evidence-based constraint map and a 90-day plan with actions, deliverables, accountable roles and review dates.

Discuss applying AI to this problem →

Use GRI to structure a conversation: what constrains growth, what supports that observation and which action could test its cause. Review the constraint list and plan with the team. This route assigns neither an index nor a readiness level.

From problem to decision

1. Describe the starting point and goal

Record what is happening now, the intended outcome and its deadline. Distinguish the company’s goal from the founder’s personal goal. List evidence for the starting point and missing information.

Current situation → intended outcome → deadline → evidence → unknowns.

Step deliverable: A starting point, goal and deadline.

2. Find constraints across seven areas

Review product and demand, trust and positioning, the business model, cash flow, operations, the team and founder readiness. Record an observation and source for each constraint. Low confidence calls for more evidence; it is not a low score.

Area → observed problem → evidence → source and period → possible explanation → what to verify.

Step deliverable: An evidence-based map of constraints across seven areas.

3. Choose the first priority

Compare constraints by their effect on the goal, urgency, dependencies and testability. Choose one first action and explain the choice in words. If evidence is insufficient, make evidence collection the first action.

Priority → why now → evidence → dependency → first testable action → accountable role.

Step deliverable: A reasoned first priority.

4. Build a 90-day plan

Divide the plan into 30-, 60- and 90-day horizons. For each period, specify a deliverable, accountable role, verification method and decision date. Schedule recurring evidence reviews. A completed plan does not mean the changes have been delivered.

Period → action → deliverable → accountable role → verification → review date → continue / revise / stop.

Step deliverable: An action plan for 30, 60 and 90 days.

How to judge whether it helped

You should leave with a document that supports a decision and a next action. Completing steps does not guarantee a commercial result. Measure the chosen change separately over an agreed period. If evidence is missing, state that and plan how to collect it.

  • The chosen constraint has observable evidence or an evidence-collection plan.
  • The plan includes deliverables, accountable roles, deadlines and review points.

This is a user route for a specific problem. The GRI AI research stages S01–S13 and the 13-week programme remain in the library as separate methodological work. This route is not a validated GRI diagnostic scale.
